Southwest High School's Fine Arts Masters of Excellence bring a new view of the young people of our town. From Winsphere Jones comes "Amagolian Blue", a story written 20 years ago and produced at Valdosta State University in 1999.  This African based story takes the shape of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, as a boy and girl from separate and warring tribes come together, destroying the traditions taught to them since they were born. The two lovers risk their hearts, their families, and their lives in order to be free and be together. This will be a wonderful journey that will certainly be thought-provoking with powerful messages. From issues of self-hate, interracial conflict, traditional barriers, religion, abortion, and the matter of choice when it comes to who we love. The sun sets in Africa on Thursday, April 5th at 7 PM in the Arts Complex on Macon Campus of Middle GA University. Free to the public and can be purchased at Southwest High School. Prepare yourself for two tribes, one love....AMAGOLIAN BLUE.
